Within the framework of the scientific cooperation agreement between Al-Nahrain University and the National University of Tenaga Malaysia, Professor Dr. Ayad Murad Takhakh, Dean of the College of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University, received visiting Professor Dr. Firas Bassem Ismail Al-Naimi, Director of the Smart Energy Generation Research Center at the Institute of Energy Engineering (IPE) at the National University of Tenaga Malaysia, on Monday, July 14, 2025, for a scientific visit aimed at strengthening academic and research cooperation.
Dr. Firas began his visit with a meeting with the heads of the research groups, where the progress achieved by each research team was discussed. Current challenges and future steps to enhance research production and steer towards sustainable development priorities were reviewed.
Following the meeting, Professor Takhakh delivered a valuable scientific lecture entitled:
“Green Vehicles and Electrical Power Generation”
which highlighted the integration of green vehicles and modern electrical power generation technologies as a pivotal step towards a sustainable future. The lecture addressed the latest developments in hybrid and electric vehicle technologies and their role in reducing carbon emissions, emphasizing the importance of linking these innovations with renewable energy systems to enhance energy efficiency and protect the environment.
Dr. Firas concluded his visit by meeting with the heads of the Mechanical Engineering Department and the Prosthetics and Orthotics Department. They agreed to cooperate in participating as an external examiner, as well as participating in scientific seminars and postgraduate discussions.
This visit comes within the framework of Al-Nahrain University’s efforts to enhance academic openness and attract leading research talent to support its academic progress and expand horizons of international cooperation.
